چکیده

Lipases (triacyl glycerol acylhydrolases, EC 3.1.1.3) belonging to the class Hydrolases catalyze hydrolysis of insoluble triacylglycerols (TAGs) to generate free fatty acids, mono and diacylglycerols and glycerol (Das et al., 2016). Lipases are found in both prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea) as well as in eukaryotes (animals, plants and fungi) (Cai-hong et al., 2008). The most broadly applied lipases are microbial due to their stability and chemical properties (Hasan et al., 2009). Although several microorganisms are recognized as potent producers of lipases (extracellular) including fungi, yeast and bacteria but fungal lipases are being used for diverse applications in biotechnological industries (Sharma and Kanwar, 2014). Extracellular secretion of lipases has been well documented for a variety of fungi (yeasts, zygomycetes and hyphomycetes). Filamentous fungi are preferred sources of lipases among the rest of the lipase producing microorganisms. The main producers of commercial lipases mainly are Rhizopus sp., Pencillium sp., Aspergillus sp., Mucor sp., Fusarium sp., Candida International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences ISSN: 2319-7706 Volume 5 Number 11 (2016) pp. 681-690 Journal homepage: http://www.ijcmas.com

Improvement of Selected Strains through Gamma Irradiation for Enhanced Lipolytic Potential

The purpose of the present investigation was to enhance the production of industrially important enzyme lipase by subjecting the wild lipase producing fungal strains i.e. Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus microsporus and Penicillium atrovenetum to various doses of gamma irradiation (20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 and 160 Gy). The isolation and lipolytic activity of selected mutant derived strains is d...

PARTIAL PURIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF B-GALACTOSIDASE FROM ASPERGILLUS NIGER UV-5

The enzyme pgalactosidase from a mutant strain of A. niger UV-5 was partially purified using ammonium sulfate and acetone. The saturation range of 60-80% ammonium sulfate was found to yield 60.5% enzyme recovery with 2.4 fold purification. Acetone precipitation at enzyme: acetone ratio of 1 : 1.5 brought about a higher yield i.e. 68% and three-fold purification. The combined procedures of ...

Lipase Production in Solid State Fermentation Using Aspergillus niger: Response Surface Methodology

Among enzymes, lipases have been widely investigated because of the numerous industrial applications. In this study, optimization of lipase production by Aspergillus niger in solid state fermentation from rice bran as solid substrate was investigated. The optimal conditions with the aid of central composite design (CCD) under response surface methodology (RSM) were obtained.  In the analysis of...
